We are thankful for the staff at ASAP. Their program helped our son get his life back on track.

Amazing program for teens and parents. My daughter has had many emotional and medical issues in the past few years and we have tried many different types of counseling and therapies. Her drug use and suicide attempt was the last straw that brought us to the ASAP program. I am so grateful to team at ASAP for the support and direction they have given my daughter and I through the past sessions, that I wish it would not end at session 30. At first I was hesitant about a drug program for my daughter thinking that was not the main issue with us, but through the weeks and family meetings we have grown tremendously with their guidance and coping skills. They hold both kids and parents accountable while giving positive life skill tools to continue on a successful road. The staff is honest, caring and truly wants success for your teens and you. I highly recommend this program to get you and your teen back on an emotionally healthy road of sober, peaceful living. Thank you to all at ASAP!

Our son was slowly spiraling out of control with continued drug use, withdrawal from the family along with disrespect, and no interest in school at all. This program changed ALL of that. The philosophy and values of the program were on par with ours and our expectations. Our son of course was resistant, but after attending a few sessions, slowly opened up to the process. The teen sessions helped our son deal with issues he was having at school, home and with substances. The family nights focused on all of us; problems that we were having as a family and helping to create solutions for our son and US! We started to look forward to group, as a cathartic outlet along with the help it provided in improving our communication with our son. We could tell our son benefited from the teen group sessions as well, he came home from these feeling positive, and confident. The change in our son and our family life is wonderful, and we would recommend this program to others in the same situation! It is a 10 week program and the process does take time, so don't look for quick fixes after a few sessions. Be patient, and the outcomes can be amazing! Thanks to the ASAP program and all of the amazing counselors!!

Dr. Walling My fields of study are engineering and mathematics. I can solve complex problems in those two worlds ASAP is a program that is an arduous process that will supply you with the tools to help better understand your child’s substance abuse problem. My son and I relationship was so strained and convoluted when we first enrolled. There were many things I learned from the staff and more importantly other parents that made me realize some of the issues were just not my sons to endure. It was absolutely amazing to watch my son evolve into a leader with honest conviction about his sobriety for the last month or so… actually caring to help motivate other children with substance abuse issues. Your Staff.. Are just AMAZING. You should probably give them a raise.. They never once waivered with support or HONEST feedback for all the families involved.. no matter which stage of recovery we were in. I do not have enough adjectives to completely describe the appreciation and joy that I now experience having a sober household AND having my son back to his normal teenage life. The program like mathematics.. simply Works as designed if you follow the procedures that are completely explained. For this I will be eternally grateful. From the bottom of my heart.. I thank you and your staff

This program was absolutely AMAZING, not only for my son, but for me too. The counselors are terrific and they really truly care about the kids. I walked away from every parent night with valuable information. I can't believe the turn around my son had because of this program. I'll be honest, he wasn't thrilled about going through the program at first but I can tell you by the end he graduated (which not all teens do) and I feel like I got my old son back. He built some great relationships with other teens that were going through the same thing he was. They all depend on each other and provide great advise to one another as well. I highly recommend this program for teens and families with substance abuse issues in the home. If I could give this program 1000 stars I would because 5 is certainly not enough.

My family has a long history with the wonderful professionals at ASAP dating back to the early 90s. We are still grateful for them. We missed the 25-year celebration in 2016, but will say congrats now! For all these years ASAP has set the standard. We have stayed connected with the Program over the years and we have referred several friends from our church, all of whom had a great experience. Since I know the ASAP staff and program well I would like to set out the straight facts for readers. First -- Leadership. ASAP is run only by licensed professionals with extensive training. For all these years Dr. Walling and Dr. Lett and Dr. Rohde have owned the program, with Dr. Walling running daily operations. The “Doctor” is always available at ASAP. In fact, ASAP is the only treatment center we have ever seen where the owner and clinical director, Dr. Walling, personally answers the phone 24 hours/day . Parents are delighted when they call and get the doctor that designed and owns the program on the phone for immediate help. Second -- -- Only professionally trained staff. Some treatment centers hire 19-year-olds with no professional training who have a year or two of sobriety as “experts.” ASAP’s philosophy is that while sobriety is of course wonderful, it does not make you an expert in treating addiction. Only professional training does that. ASAP’s policy is to hire only highly trained clinicians. To the person who wrote a review calling the staff “relatively young girls”—those are actually 26-year- old women finishing their master’s or PhD degrees at ASAP. It is offensive to call these professional women at ASAP “girls.” Third -- Low cost. The cost of the ASAP Program is reasonable, actually a small fraction of any residential treatment. And the cost for treatment at ASAP is not set by ASAP—the cost is always set by your insurance company. For example, if after three sessions you drop out you would only pay the insurance company rate for those 3 sessions. Simple. Fourth-- Everything by the book. ASAP does everything by the book -- there is no smoking allowing, teens are not encouraged to drop out of high school, none of the silly things we have seen elsewhere. Thank you ASAP for setting the standard for teen substance abuse treatment here in Arizona!

We had a wonderful experience with this program! The councilors truly care about the kids and it shows. There are a few locations around the valley so travel time isn't an issue, but we ended up choosing a meeting location further from home because their weekly parent nights were on a day that worked better with our work schedule. Parent nights were so helpful and eye opening for our family. We were able to connect with other parents going through similar issues in their home and pick up great ideas for working through tough times. It was amazing to see the teens positively encouraging each other and holding their peers accountable. The staff is amazing and we learned a LOT...coping skills, communication, behavior contracts, the list goes on. We can't thank them enough!

After lots of wasted time going through many group therapy programs offered by different state agencies for adopted children, I was pleasantly surprised by this amazing program. When I realized my son had an addiction program, I thought we would just be sitting through a bunch more lectures without any actual instruction on how to fix our problems. Boy, was I wrong! Dr. Walling has assembled a great team of true experts who really know what they are doing. Simply following the protocol took us through life changing lessons. Our family functions very differently and much more smoothly now. Attending this program with our son on family night taught me how to make some changes I didn't even know I needed to make. ASAP gave us a lingo to discuss the issues at hand without being awkward or blowing up. It's very eye opening and 2 months after completing, we are still benefitting from our experiences with the ASAP Team.

I can't say "THANK YOU!!!" enough for this program. My family has been turned around, and all thanks to Dr. Walling and his staff. We don't have great insurance coverage and we were facing little to no treatment options for our 16 year old son until I spoke with Dr. Walling. I'm not sure how anyone could say anything hurtful about this program's financial opportunities for struggling families. Dr. Walling gave us flexible payment options, and because of that our son was able to attend treament where many other programs turned us down. Not only were they flexible with the financials, but I truly think it was a "god thing" or meant-to-be, because this was the most amazing experience we could've asked for for my son. He felt safe to open up in the sessions, the counselors were extremely professional and knowledgeable, and each session I saw my son learning and growing. Any time I had a question or concern about my son, Dr. Walling would e-mail me back almost immediately with some suggestions and helpful thoughts. Not to mention the family sessions were incredible and my husband and I learned so much! Now he's turned 18, going to college (we never thought that would happen), and has maintained his sobriety ever since. He even now attends support groups to help other struggling adolescents. If I haven't made myself clear, this program SAVES LIVES. And to those who come on here to say derogatory things--you must be jealous, no-good competitors-- and you should be ashamed of yourselves! THANK YOU A.S.A.P!!!

We are so very grateful to the wonderful people at ASAP. Over two years ago, we learned that our teen-age daughter was using drugs and alcohol. The decline in her performance at school and in her relationship with us was rapid and terrifying. We thought we were losing her and felt helpless. A friend recommended ASAP, and we enrolled her immediately. The program was awesome. With the guidance of ASAP's skilled professional staff, our daughter and the other kids in her program learned valuable lessons about life and substance abuse, shared their thoughts with each other in a loving and nurturing environment, and helped each other to deal with their underlying problems and recover from drug abuse. ASAP involved the parents, too. The program gave the kids a safe place to talk to their parents, and vice versa. Very soon, we went from being terrified about having to go with our kid to a drug rehab program, to being grateful for the safe space in which to help our family get better. And it worked. Our daughter has been sober for more than two years. She's happy, productive, and looking forward to college. We can't thank our friends at ASAP enough for helping us get our little girl back.

The ASAP treatment program in Phoenix for teens is an intensive out patient program that I can highly recommend. It was a blessing to my family and our son. Everyday we are filled with gratitude for the doctors, therapists and counselors who dedicate their life educating and bringing about change in the lives of teens today whom struggle with addiction. They provide extensive life long tools for families and teens through step work, workshops, family therapy, accountability, relapse prevention etc. While it is the choice of each individual to remain sober, ASAP does an outstanding job in making the much needed support available to struggling teens and their families, reopening the lines of healthy communication that becomes lost. Founders Dr. Rhode, Dr. Walling and their staff support families readily & selflessly, directing the path to recover and family healing, they see real change happen.…..Blessed to have this outstanding service available to our local community.

For 25 years everyone in the mental health community in Phoenix has known that the ASAP Program is the finest treatment option for substance abuse and teens. Great staff, great program, and thousands of grateful families helped. I can tell you that there is nothing like the experience of an emotional graduation ceremony at ASAP, but when the grateful parents on graduation night tell ASAP staff "you have saved our son (our daughter) and our family!" the ASAP staff will take no credit, insisting that they only created a good counseling opportunity, and the family made all the hard lifestyle changes and gets ALL the credit. This is real counseling, much more than a 12-step program, and families go through counseling together. Our friends had insurance pay 95% of the fees, and ASAP is a tiny fraction of the cost of residential programs. Parents make the best decision when they choose ASAP, one of the sessions at ASAP each week is designed specifically to help parents. Go to ASAP's website and read and decide for yourself-- don't believe the haters that post reviews here, about any program or hospital actually, many of them are bogus reviews from competitors. We are so grateful for our long personal relationship with the great people at ASAP, it is still the original owners that run it to this day.
